What's going on in Seed Certification
Oregon Seed Certification Service welcomes new staff members:
OSCS is pleased to announce that we have two new office staff members who joined us in July: Lisa Higgs and Mel Laam. Lisa previously worked at the OSU Seed Lab since 2011, and comes to us with a great understanding of seed testing and analysis. She will be assisting Nancy DeSautel with her duties as the Tag Printing Coordinator including movement of untagged Certified seed, company tag audits and with general office support. Mel comes to us after working with the OSU Athletic Department, and in private industry. She will be our Tagging and Printing Specialist. Mel will be training with Lori Weber focussing on analyzing and interpreting seed test reports, advanced tagging, mixture and blend packets and general office support. Please introduce yourself, and welcome Lisa and Mel to the Oregon seed certification program the next time you talk to them on the phone or come to our office.
Valley Grass seed Inspections are wrapping up (except for bent grasses and seed stocks). Be on the look out for Rejection Subject to Re-inspection letters - these require action! There is a new procedure, so make sure you read the bottom of the letter carefully.
If you are missing a crop inspection report, you can check online using e-certification, or give us a call.
Seed Certification is now on Facebook! Follow us to get updates on what's happening, reminders of deadlines, and see pictures of what we do!
